Malted Protein Waffles

Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, these high-protein waffles blend cottage cheese, vanilla protein and Saunders' Malt Extract for a healthy, satisfying breakfast or snack.

10 min (+ 7 minutes cooking time)

Ingredients
  • 2 cups self-raising flour or pancake/waffle mix

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

  • 2 scoops (30g each) vanilla protein powder

  • 2 tbsp Saunders' Malt Extract

  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup milk 

  • Pinch sea salt  

Method
  1. Preheat waffle maker.

  2. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth and thick.

  3. Pour batter into the waffle maker and cook until golden and crisp.

  4. Serve with yoghurt, berries or a drizzle of Saunders’ Malt Extract.


Tip:

Use slightly less milk for extra-crispy waffles, or add a splash more for a softer, fluffier inside.
