Malted Teriyaki Beef Bowls

These malted teriyaki beef bowls are a quick, family-friendly dinner with a glossy, flavour-packed sauce. Saunders’ Malt Extract deepens the teriyaki flavour, adds natural caramel notes and helps create that sticky, shiny finish. Serve over warm rice with spring onions and sesame seeds for a simple weeknight meal everyone loves.

10 minutes (+ 10 minutes cook time)

Ingredients
  • 500–750g thinly sliced beef

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1½ tbsp Saunders’ Malt Extract (Plus extra for drizzling) 

  • 2 tsp garlic, minced

  • 2 tsp ginger, minced

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • spring onions, sliced

  • sesame seeds

  • sliced red chilli (optional)

Method
  1. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and cook the beef until browned. Add garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.

  2. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, Saunders’ Malt Extract and sesame oil. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce becomes thick, glossy and slightly sticky.

  3. Spoon the beef mixture over warm rice and top with spring onions, sesame seeds and optional chilli.

  4. Finish with a light drizzle of Saunders Malt to enhance shine and deepen the flavour.


Tip: Add steamed broccoli, carrots or peas for extra veggies without changing the base flavour of the bowl.
